Independent assurance is multidisciplinary. Programme confidence cannot be established through testing evidence alone, nor through programme reporting without technical scrutiny.
Enigma assembles the capability around the client decision and risk profile. Practitioners are applied where their judgement is material; engagements are not padded with unnecessary headcount. Each discipline examines its evidence domain, while the final opinion integrates dependencies, conflicts and consequences across the programme.

Senior assurance disciplines
Head of Test
Sets quality strategy, evidence standards, lifecycle controls, supplier expectations, governance thresholds and the independent quality opinion. The discipline challenges whether test activity has produced decision-grade evidence.
Senior QA
Examines traceability, coverage, environments, test data, execution integrity, defects and acceptance conditions. The focus is evidence integrity, not the volume of scripts executed or the colour of a dashboard.
Programme Director
Provides board-level judgement on viability, governance, recovery, accountabilities, benefits exposure and the credibility of continue, reset or stop decisions.
Programme Manager
Tests integrated plans, milestones, dependencies, RAID control, resource assumptions and whether delivery or recovery commitments are executable.
Scrum Master
Examines delivery flow, impediments, definition integrity, dependencies and whether reported agile progress reflects completed outcomes rather than activity or optimistic forecasting.
Technical Architect
Assesses architecture decisions, integration, non-functional requirements, operability, security dependencies, technical debt and whether the solution is technically ready for the decision being requested.
How evidence becomes an assurance opinion

Specialist evidence is not reported as six disconnected workstreams. The assurance lead integrates cross-cutting dependencies, contradictory evidence, ownership gaps and cumulative exposure. Governance receives one coherent position that distinguishes:
- what has been demonstrated;
- what remains uncertain or untested;
- which controls have failed or are absent;
- what action is required and who owns it;
- what consequence follows if the client proceeds;
- what conditions must be verified before confidence can increase.
The smallest credible team
Not every engagement needs every discipline. A focused quality review may require a Head of Test and Senior QA practitioner. A programme viability or recovery review may require programme, delivery, architecture and quality judgement. The mandate determines the team, and exclusions are made explicit.
No marking our own homework
Enigma will not present delivery work performed by an engagement resource as independently assured by that same resource or reporting line. Where a practitioner has contributed to delivery, that area is excluded from their assurance scope or assessed through a separate independent route.
